Andrea Coppi was born in Bagno a Ripoli, Florence, in 1988 and lives in Barberino Tavarnelle, Florence;
undertakes technical-scientific studies, supported by piano lessons and later by theatre;
he started taking photographs for leisure in 2017, when he bought his first camera; he soon realized that photography was not just a means of making a two-dimensional portrait of what was in front of him, but an opportunity through which to express himself;
he studied, as a self-taught, several authors including Saul Leiter, Ernst Haas, Elliot Erwitt, David Gibson, Joel Meyerowitz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Luigi Ghirri and Franco Fontana; photographers who are very different from each other, but who constitute a great source of cultural enrichment and inspiration which allow him to range from landscape to street photography, from color to black and white without remaining tied to a style or typology of photography, which which he considers limiting and counterproductive.
The purpose of his work is not to represent reality as it appears to his eyes, but to interpret and distort it according to a form of thought to reveal his interpretation of the world.
